MANAGING ARCHITECT | PARTNER
AR. GRACE NALDA-CASAL
Grace Casal is an architect since 2007. She worked as part of the design team at Gabriel Formoso & Partners participating in the design of high-rise residential buildings such as The Residences at Greenbelt and Serendra. Under her responsibility included an 8-story commercial/office building, where she represented the company for the layout, organization, and coordination of model units with Ayala Land, Inc. At Periquet-Galicia, Inc., Grace enhanced her skills in interior architecture and lighting design for a model unit for The Residences at Greenbelt and a 1000 sqm. house at Forbes, Makati. She also worked as a part-time instructor in the Eastern Visayas State University, teaching courses on physical planning, architectural research methods, and architectural design and interiors.
She completed her degree in Architecture at the University of the Philippines in Diliman with an award as Student Leader of the Year in 2005 and as a 2004 Association of Filipino Architects in Washington Scholar. She is also a certified Authorized Managing Officer. She is also the United Architects of the Philippines Metro Tacloban Chapter President for the FY 2024-2025.
PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT | PARTNER
AR. AL ANTHONY CASAL
Al Anthony Casal is an architect who worked as a project designer in Lor Calma & Partners, where he co-designed numerous residential and condominium projects such as Calma and David Residences, Tobias Condo Unit, and a high-rise building in Fort Bonifacio. He also developed the design and visualization for a high-end model unit and PLDT main office design competition entry. Al Anthony co-designed and supervised Seattle's Best Coffee in Greenbelt 3. He worked as a designer and head of research and development at Ferco Malaysia, where he made presentations and detailed drawings of seats and office system furniture, and supervised the Vietnam National Convention Center's mass-produced seats.
Al Anthony began his training at Espina-Perez-Espina & Associates, working on institutional and ecumenical structures. He graduated from the University of San Carlos in 2003 and is a Rotary member, and has held various positions in the UAP Metro Tacloban Chapter such as being its Chapter President for two terms. He is the company's Licensed Safety Officer.
BACKGROUND
In 2007, two young architects began collaborating on professional services for architectural projects in North Forbes Park, Makati City, and Taguig. Over time, the firm's services expanded to Tacloban City, where it designed residences and worked with local contractors. The company's focus on small renovations eventually led to larger-scale projects, including mixed-use buildings and residences. In 2011, the two architects formed CasalNalda Inc., which served as the construction arm of their partnership. In 2013, the company was hit by Super Typhoon Haiyan, which later prompted the partners to merge their architectural and construction services. Casal+Nalda was then established in 2017. Today, it offers a full range of design and construction services for clients throughout the Philippines.
